Delight in the Classic: Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies Recipe

A nostalgic and delicious cookie with a chewy peanut butter base and a rich chocolate kiss on top perfect for holidays or anytime snacking.

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • About 48 chocolate kisses, unwrapped
  • Optional: 1/4 cup chopped peanuts
  • Optional: 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat peanut butter, butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add egg and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in any optional add-ins if using.
  7. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.
  10. Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, chill dough for 30 minutes before baking. Be careful not to overbake—cookies continue to cook after removal from oven.
