Delectable Mini Sweet Potato Gratins: A Delicious and Nutritious Treat

These Mini Sweet Potato Gratins are bite-sized, nutritious, and irresistibly delicious perfect for any occasion, from elegant dinners to healthy snacking.

  • 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh thyme leaves, for garnish
  • Optional: 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • Optional: 1/4 cup chopped chives
  • Optional: 1/4 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
  • Optional: 1/4 cup sautéed mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin.
  2. Thinly slice sweet potatoes using a mandoline for uniformity.
  3. In a saucepan, warm heavy cream with minced garlic. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Layer sweet potato slices in each muffin cup, slightly overlapping.
  5. Pour 1 tbsp of warm cream over each stack.
  6. Sprinkle generously with Gruyère cheese.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until tender and golden.
  8. Let cool slightly, then remove from muffin tin and garnish with thyme.

Notes

Use a mandoline for even slices. Don’t skip seasoning the cream — it brings out the flavor in every layer.
