  • 2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon chopped scallions
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, ginger, and chili flakes to prepare the marinade.

  3. Cook brown rice or quinoa according to package instructions and allow to cool slightly.
  4. Slice the cucumber, shred the carrots, and slice the avocado.
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Sear the marinated fish for 2-3 minutes per side. Reserve the marinade for drizzling.

  7. Drizzle with reserved marinade and garnish with sesame seeds and scallions.
  8. Optional: Add seaweed salad, pickled ginger, or microgreens for extra flair.

Notes

Use sushi-grade fish for best flavor and texture. Avoid over-marinating and overcrowding the pan for optimal sear and consistency.
