  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Snow peas or bell peppers (optional)
  • Chopped scallions for garnish (optional)
  • Sriracha or chili paste for added heat (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice flank steak thinly against the grain.
  2. Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water in a bowl to form the sauce.
  3. Cut broccoli into bite-sized florets.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  5. Sauté garlic and ginger for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Add beef and cook until browned, about 4–5 minutes; remove and set aside.
  7. Add broccoli and a splash of water, cover and steam for 2–3 minutes until tender-crisp.
  8. Return beef to skillet, pour sauce over, and stir to coat.
  9. Cook for 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens.
  10. Stir in sesame oil and red pepper flakes, if using.
  11. Garnish with scallions or extra red pepper flakes and serve hot.

Slice beef against the grain for maximum tenderness. Don’t overcook broccoli—keep it vibrant and crisp. Marinate beef in sauce mixture for 30 minutes before cooking for enhanced flavor.
