Baked Firecracker Chicken: A Flavorful Twist to Spice Up Your Meals

A fiery, flavor-packed baked chicken dish with a perfect balance of sweet and spicy healthier than fried, but just as satisfying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup sriracha sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Optional: Chopped fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together sriracha, honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add chicken breasts to the bowl and coat thoroughly. Marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  4. Place marinated chicken on the baking sheet, ensuring pieces don’t touch.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Optional: Broil for 2-3 minutes for a caramelized finish. Watch closely to avoid burning.
  7. Remove from oven and let rest 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the pan to ensure even cooking. Use a thermometer for perfect doneness. Resting the chicken keeps it juicy.
