Irresistible Air Fryer Buffalo Cauliflower Recipe

A fiery, plant-based twist on classic buffalo wings made easy and healthy with an air fryer. Crispy, spicy, and completely addictive.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large head of cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour blend)
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3/4 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
  • 2 tablespoons vegan butter, melted
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut the cauliflower into evenly-sized florets.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, almond milk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to make a smooth batter.
  3. Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter and shake off excess before placing on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Arrange coated florets in a single layer in the basket.
  5. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Meanwhile, mix hot sauce and melted vegan butter in a saucepan over low heat.
  7. Transfer cooked cauliflower to a bowl, pour buffalo sauce over, and toss well to coat.
  8. Return to air fryer and cook for an additional 5 minutes to set the sauce.

Notes

Avoid overcrowding the basket for optimal crispiness. Double dip in buffalo sauce for extra heat and coating.
